Christmas in July Celebration welcomes A Maple Valley Christmas

Welcome to another sneak peek of Christmas in July Celebration!

I’ve been celebrating Christmas in July this month by introducing books and novellas coming out this 2018 holiday season.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to Jerry Todt. He’s going to be giving us some highlights of his debut Christmas romance A Maple Valley Christmas. Thanks for joining me today Jerry, and congratulations on your book!

Thanks for having me!

I’ve read the interview you had with Anaiah Press, and I have to tell you...I have no idea how you find the time to do everything you do. One of the things you mentioned is the other books you’ve completed and are currently working on. Are these also romances, or other genres?

I currently have two other romance novels in the final stages of edits that I am excited to put out into the book world. I also have a few works in process in the mystery/thriller genre that will hopefully be headed to edits in the next couple of months.

That’s great. We’ll have to be on the lookout for more of your work. Okay, so let’s talk Christmas. You’ve apparently earned a nickname. In your opinion, what make Christmas special?

It is the best time of year! Everyone is a little nicer to each other and it’s a time to gather with friends and family for no other reason than it’s expected but you get to spend time with those you wouldn’t ordinarily see. The lights make everything brighter and far prettier during the cold winter months.

I totally agree. Since you didn’t share your nickname, ahem, let me tell our readers for you. Jerry is so into Christmas friends and family call him Mr. Christmas! Given your love of Christmas, I think it’s great that your debut book is about Christmas;)

Now about the book, I understand a visit to a Maple Syrup farm inspired the setting so tell us about something you learned about the process of making/collecting Maple syrup. And did you add any of these details to the book?

I was amazed at the whole process and how much work it takes to produce just one bottle of syrup. I tried to incorporate a little of the process of draining the sap from the trees and how they collect it. I was also awestruck by the beauty of the farm. The massive trees that still produce sap for the syrup are hundreds of years old.

I imagine those old tree must’ve been beautiful. Last question, what inspiration or life lesson do you hope the readers will get from A Maple Valley Christmas?

If this book could inspire just one person to not give up on love and to know it can happen when you least expect it.

Jerry, that’s something many people need to hear. So glad you took time to celebrate with me today, and for sharing some behind the scenes of A Maple Valley Christmas!
